Lake Marie Lodge Adds Solar Power

Lake Marie Lodge had been running a generator 16 Hours a day, 7 days a week. Lake Marie is a higher-end fishing lodge experience; their clients expect fine living conditions and an above average fishing experience without the noise of a generator.

“I do not want the sound of my generator to ruin the Alaskan wilderness experience that my customers have paid for.” said Dave Wilson, Owner and operator of the Lodge.

RES designed a system that allows the lodge to run the generator for minimum times and provides a scalable system that allows for the lodge's planned growth.

RES installed a Xantrex 11KW power system, complete with solar panels and Surrette’s new 2 Volt batteries. The powerful Surrette S-1380 batteries allow for plenty of power without the weight of the larger batteries.

Lake Marie now runs the generator for only six hours every other day. Dave Wilson is pleased that he does not need to run the generator as much as he had in the past.  He has saved money and eased the difficult job of hauling fuel to the lodge.
