Shipboard Wind Energy

"The Alaska Leader" is a year round live aboard vessel with full amenities and freezes with a one year supply of food. Prior to a RES energy system, running the generator 24/7 was  necessary to keep freezers frozen and the ship comfortable.

RES installed an11 KW systems, complete with a Xantrex SW 11KW inverter/charger, two 1000W Kestrel wind turbines and eight Rolls Surrette 6-CS-25PS batteries.

The system has worked as engineered, the generator runs once a day for five hours and the Kestrel Wind Turbines Survived winds clock at over 120 MPH!
